Spam volumes can change from day to day by quite a large amount. If you're suddenly seeing an increase in the amount of spam it's highly likely that it's just a general increase in the amount being sent by spammers.
You can increase the spam protection through your control panel. From there, select 'Junk Mail Filters'.
